Summertime Livebaiting

Report Date: June 22, 2022

This time of year the temperatures heat up and so does fishing livebaits here in Stuart. On halfday trips (4 hours) we focus on inshore trips fishing with livebaits like pilchards, greenies and croakers targeting Snook, jacks, tarpon and cubera snapper. Morning trips generally start at 7am or earlier because we have to purchase these livebaits on the water. Inshore livebait trips can fish up to 3 rods.
This time of year the seas calm down which enables us to fish nearshore on the ocean. These trips we suggest a 3/4 day ( 6 hour) trip slow trolling 3 rods or drift fishing up to 4 rods. These trips we target kingfish, barracuda, mahi-mahi, Bonita and an occasional sailfish. I require 2 foot seas or less for nearshore trips.
For larger groups up to 6 people it's all inshore fishing with shrimp.
