February Bite

Report Date: February 7, 2015

So far Early February has shown a good structure bite for black drum, sheepshead, snook and snapper around area bridges, Most drum have been running in the 4-6 lb range with sheepshead average about 2 lbs. Some keeper mangrove snappers but the majority are under 12".
The spanish mackerel are still chewing just outside the inlet but I have not been able to target them for a few weeks with the higher seas. Our last trip outside was a mix of macs and bluefish due east of the inlet eating green gulfstream minnow jigs. Pompano are scattered for the most part but the crossroads and Hells Gate in the St. Lucie River have been most productive.
