Pompano Time

Report Date: February 23, 2017

We are finally starting to see some pompano on the Treasure Coast and the bite should continue to pick up thru April. The Sailfish Flats, Crossroads and areas in the St. Lucie River are holding pomps to 3 lbs. Snook near area bridges and docks. The sheepshead bite has been very strong in the St. Lucie Inlet with fish up to 4 lbs. Spanish mackerel are still south of the inlet just outside but bring some glass minnow chum with you. The water quality has been great for months here. I would like to see an increase in baitfish both inshore and offshore.
