Summertime Slam

Report Date: June 17, 2023

Summertime fishing here on the Treasure Coast can get pretty exciting livebaiting inshore for jacks, snook, and tarpon. The earlier the better with many trips departures at 6 or 7 am . You will also avoid the afternoon thunderstorms which pop up in the afternoon. These species are catch and release with snook opening up again September 1st.
For edibles, croaker and snapper has been the best bite for the past year. Normally we see plenty of black drum, sheepshead, and tripletail throughout the year but that has unfortunately changed .
Also in the summer with smaller groups up to 3 people we fish the ocean nearshore for kingfish, mahi, sailfish, bonita, barracuda and some snapper. These trips also require an early departure along with calm seas of 2 feet or less. I do suggest a 3/4 day outing on these trips.
