Lot's of Bait

Report Date: April 18, 2015

The water has cleaned up nicely here in the Stuart area. After discontinuing water releases around 2 weeks ago you would think you were in the keys or Bahamas. With the cleaner water,I gave noticed an increase of baitfish in both the St. Lucie and Indian Rivers which is great news.
We are still seeing some spanish mackerel, bluefish and pompano around but their time is numbered. By the end of April these species will be gone for the most part. Look for tarpon, snook and big jacks near the inlets on livebaits. This is the time of year I crank up my assault on tripletail and flounder north of the Jensen Causeway.
