Fishing in the Stuart area remains Excellent

Report Date: March 15, 2014

Fishing in the Stuart area remains excellent with a wide variety to choose from. Lately in the inlet area there has been plenty of sheepshead along the north side drifting and jigging shrimp along the bottom. We have actually seen more bonefish than pompano lately. I believe the recent beach renourishment has screwed up our pompano bite this year. Black drum are at area bridges, docks and channel markers up to nine pounds lately.

Congratulations to Josh Johns from Okeechobee with this year's first double on tripletail. This fish weighed in at 14 pounds.

Also, Martha Smith staying next door at River Palms Cottages has been tearing it up with big sheepshead, drum and tripletail. I'll post her first tripletail ever on my next report.
